Hello to all:

No. I have not fallen off the face of the earth!

Want to update everyone on my visit with mom this past weekend. It was a delightful
visit, we had fun. She is so alert, so aware, so with it, if you know what I mean. She is
doing physical therapy every week day and is learning how to get into and out of bed,
walking with the aid of a walker or the wheelchair. I am so proud of how well she is
eating as this has been a concern of mine of quite a while. She seems to be spending
more time sitting in her wheelchair than in bed and she even sat on a sofa for several
minutes. You could not wipe the smile off my face as we sat in the ice cream parlor
one evening and played a few hands of rummy 500, she had to refresh MY memory
on how to play!! She is still having problems with diarrhea, YUCK, and the nursing
staff is working on finding the cause. Her bedsore on the heel of her foot is healing.
All be told, I did not shed one tear this weekend but could only beam. She won't be
coming home anytime soon, but to look back at the progress she has made since the
end of August is awesome.

I love you all, keep the phone calls, cards, and dear precious paintings from Jessica,
Jacob and Justin coming. There is only one of me, and, like a gazillion of you, so
please share this information appropriately.

Off to bed, I'm exhausted, Southwest Airlines number of passengers wore me out
today! I was literally on my feet 8 hours out of a 10 hour shift today.
